About Mayne Island

Mayne Island is approximately 5 miles wide by 7 miles long - 21 km2 (8 sq miles) - and is the midway point between Tsawwassen (mainland) and Swartz Bay (Victoria). Mayne is a compact little island with 1,071 residents. Mayne Island's topography offers a little something for everyone's desires, including great hiking trails through wilderness parks and many beach accesses for swimming and boating.

Tennis courts are located at the Community Centre on Felix Jack Road. The Adachi Pavilion, built by the Mayne Island Lions Club at Dinner Bay Park, offers picnic tables, a putting green, frisbee course and play areas for children. Also located at the Dinner Bay Park is the Japanese Garden; a must see!

Mount Parke Regional Park offers trails with the Mary Jeffery Nature Appreciation Park and several routes up Mount Parke, the highest point on Mayne Island, from where stunning Island vistas are presented.

The giant Christmas Tree and May Day celebrations are held at the Miners Bay Community Park. St. John Point is a newly acquired 26 hectare / 64 acre park, an acquisition spearheaded by the Mayne Island Conservancy.

There are also Georgina Point Heritage Park, Lighthouse and Cotton Parks where one can enjoy wild life, sea life and ferries traversing the waters of Active Pass.
